However, we know that he and Della were married in the classic comics and cartoons, whereas we don't know the situation in DuckTales 2017. It could be that Della got married but later divorced and went back to her maiden name, which was subsequently applied to the boys. It's not like the father or Della herself were around to put names on the boys' birth/hatching certificates.
