They probably pushed Frank Angones to the limit here. Disney probably wanted to boot it to make way for, like I said, crappy Miraculous Ladybug episodes or spinoffs to take up their entire broadcast list on Disney XD and Disney Channel. I think that Frank Angones bartered with their executives to, at the very least, have an ending. The executives, being the impatient pricks that they are, probably agreed to this, but gave the Ducktales writers and animators a very strict dateline for the finale. So, naturally, the writers have to improvise.

Disney is like that. They push creators to make unreasonable deadlines and then boot them for another trash Miraculous Ladybug spin-off.

It's already been comfirmed that Season 3 will be the last season. :/
