Me just questioning logic and physics when I see Scrooge use his cane as a pogo stick

In the episode "The split sword of Swanstantine" Lena and Huey are looking for the 3rd part of the sword which is stuck in the ground. They both struggle to pull it out but the eventually do. I just don't get why Lena couldn't have just used her magic to lift it out of the ground. Even Huey wondered why! Also Huey gone rogue!

Magica De Spell, Flintheart Glomgold, The beagle boys, Ma beagle, Mark beaks, and many others are not punished for their crimes, the closest thing they have is Gizmoduck. I'm very confused about Magica De Spell because has committed attempted murder of several children and then they just allow her to work at Funzo's Funzone.
