Amunet is a female Egyptian Jackal introduced in the DuckTales reboot episode "The Living Mummies of Toth-Ra!"

History

Amunet was born as one of the Living Mummies, the latest generation of the followers of Toth-Ra, who wrapped themselves in bandages in honor of their ancestors. Believing themselves to be the servants of the pharaoh, they blindly accepted what they perceived to be his demands, even when they involved such unpleasantness as living next to the pyramid's dump. Amunet was so devoted that she refused to see the squalor in which the followers lived, and refused to even consider the idea of rising up against Toth-Ra when it was suggested by Scrooge McDuck. However, upon being introduced to the wonder of burritos by Launchpad McQuack, Amunet and her people were quick to rise up against their leader.

Despite her eagerness, Amunet proved reluctant to embrace full-on rebellion, questioning Huey's strategies and admitting that she and her people would probably surrender if Toth-Ra ordered it. However, Launchpad proved the unlikely inspiration to move them to action, and they stormed Toth-Ra's pyramid, only to discover that his guard had in fact been manipulating the pharaoh's mummified remains to assert authority over them. A magic spell then revived Toth-Ra himself, and in the ensuing battle, Launchpad became injured; it fell to Amunet to rally her people to the true cause of freedom. They subsequently succeeded in returning Toth-Ra to his sleep and left the pyramid, at which point Amunet was given a pair of sunglasses to help her get used to the sun. She gifted Launchpad with a golden sickle from Toth-Ra's tomb, and Scrooge with a burrito he enjoyed to his surprise.

She later joined forces with Faris Djinn to battle the invading Moonlanders, who closed in on Toth-Ra's pyramid. Though the two proved formidable adversaries, they were forced back by the attacking aliens and were unable to escape to join Della Duck and the kids aboard the Sunchaser.
