Baloo von Bruinwald XIII is a legendary pilot who founded the cargo company Higher For Hire. Baloo was shown on an advertisement of Higher for Hire in the DuckTales (2017) episode "The Lost Cargo of Kit Cloudkicker!" and later he mentioned by Kit Cloudkicker when he was speaking to Dewey Duck.

• Baloo originally appeared in the 1967 Disney movie The Jungle Book and 1990-1991 Disney Afternoon series TaleSpin. Unlike in TaleSpin, in DuckTales 2017 he is claimed to be the founder of Higher for Hire rather than an unwilling employee, though in the original TaleSpin, Higher for Hire was previously his own service, Baloo's Air Service, which he'd lost ownership of at the beginning of the series.
• The name "Von Bruinwald XIII" is taken from the original Talespin episode "Balooest of the Blue Bloods", in which it was revealed that Baloo was the 13th heir to a mansion in a long line of wealthy bears who met untimely ends.
• The Ducktales creators states that they actually had the rights to use Baloo, but opted not to include him because the story they'd chosen didn't provide them a means by which to connect Baloo to one of the main characters' development the way Kit is connected to Dewey's story.
