The Barksian Modulator is an invention of Gyro Gearloose's that can alter a person's voice when swallowed. It is grey in appearance, with a silver panel and red, orange and green lights adorning it.

"The Shadow War!"[]
When Donald Duck's voice proves incomprehensible to his various allies in the battle against Magica De Spell, Gyro forces him to swallow the modulator. This provides Donald the ability to lead his family and allies in the attack on Magica and her shadow army.

- The Barksian Modulator is based on the voice pills that Donald bought in the cartoon short Donald's Dream Voice
- The Barksian Modulator is named after Carl Barks, whose comics usually featured intelligible dialogue from Donald.
- The Barksian Modulator was invented by Gyro.
