Big Trouble at Little Lake!

Big Trouble at Little Lake! is a DuckTales 2017 comic book story, and the third of four prequel stories detailing the life of Donald and the nephews prior to the series' pilot.

Synopsis[]

Donald is working his latest job as a tour guide on Little Lake, which is noted for its shallow waters and abundance of sponge species. After a successful run, he returns to his boat only to spot the boys about to go canoeing. Not willing to let the trio go off on their own, he tethers the canoe to the back of his tour boat, the Slow N' Steady, and makes them wear life jackets as he tows them around. Annoyed as the boys are, Donald is burdened with Dr. Ruffalo, an informed tourist who attempts to commandeer his tour.

The boys' attempt to cut loose is thwarted by Donald's loss of temper, and both the canoe and the Slow N' Steady end up wrecked. To Donald's dismay, some of the sponges prove dangerous after dark, and their efforts to escape the island at the center of the lake are thwarted. After a rescue boat fails to reach them, Donald's loud screams manage to attract a helicopter. The pilot, impressed, offers Donald a position on his rescue squad, but Donald quickly flees.
