The Board of Directors of McDuck Enterprises are a trio of anthropomorphic vultures that helped Scrooge McDuck in running his company and managing his finances. Scrooge has hired them because they are even bigger tightwads than him. Despite this, he doesn't have a good relationship with them, and they often end up arguing. Bradford is the chairman of the board.

At the end of Season 2, however, they revealed themselves as the High Command of F.O.W.L.

In the finale, it was revealed that, while originally believed to be brothers, Bentley and Buford are actually clones of Bradford meant to help his cover as the sole mastermind.

History[]

Woo-oo![]

The Board debuts in this episode, in which they inform Scrooge of their decisions to cut company spending on various areas that seem of no importance to them, such as advanced robotics.

The Great Dime Chase![]

The Board return in this episode where they endeavor to convince Scrooge to cut spending for his company. When Gyro Gearloose interrupts and presents his latest invention Lil Bulb to the board, they dismiss it.

Eventually, the Board decide to make their own spending cuts, particularly at the Money Bin, by eliminating various expenses and employees they deem necessary including cutting the Bin's magical defenses, selling the velvet pillow where the Number One Dime is exhibited, firing employees Emily Quackfaster and Gyro and even selling the Money Bin itself, citing that Scrooge has an office in downtown Duckburg.

After Lil Bulb goes haywire and rampages through the bin, it and Gyro interrupt the meeting between Scrooge and the Board. Scrooge quickly convinces the Board that were they to fire the likes of Gyro and Mrs. Quackfaster, the irate employees would seek revenge, and the board decide to keep the Bin and its employees far away from their offices.

Jaw$![]

The Board sets up an interview with Roxanne Featherly for Scrooge, to improve his public image.

The Last Crash of the Sunchaser![]

It is revealed in flashbacks that the Board stopped Scrooge's space program that he launched to find his lost niece Della Duck just before Scrooge went bankrupt.

Last Christmas![]

The three Board members make minor appearances at the first Christmas party held by McDuck Enterprises, and tell Scrooge that they are not having fun.

The 87 Cent Solution![]

The Buzzards appear as guests at Scrooge's fake funeral.

Moonvasion![]

At the end of the episode, the trio is revealed to be the F.O.W.L. High Command. The Duck family's inadvertently playing a part in starting the invasion has convinced the Buzzards that the family is too dangerous to their criminal empire. They gather their agents and reveal they plan to take control and end the family once and for all.

Challenge of the Senior Junior Woodchucks![]

The Buzzards briefly appear at the end of the episode, watching Gandra Dee confirm via spy footage that Clan McDuck had uncovered Isabella Finch's lost adventure journal. Bradford declares a race with the family to acquire the lost relics documented within.

Double-O-Duck in You Only Crash Twice![]

Bradford appears solo to warn Black Heron and Steelbeak of Scrooge McDuck's presence in Funso's Fun Zone, as F.O.W.L.'s base is located underneath the restaurant, and charges them with getting rid of him. At the end of the episode, Bradford berates the two for their failure, after returning Launchpad and Dewey to the Funso's AR game they believed they were playing and restoring Black Heron's intelligence with her Intelli-Ray. Prohibiting the use of ray guns and doomsday plots in their schemes, Bradford declares they will need to be more cunning to steal the world from under Scrooge's nose.

Let's Get Dangerous![]

After Taurus Bulba uses the Ramrod to summon the Fearsome Four and imprison Scrooge, Bradford personally confronts Bulba in his office and berates him for his actions. When Bulba tries to convince Bradford that the Fearsome Four could help F.O.W.L. take over the world, Bradford rejects Bulba’s suggestion and plainly states that F.O.W.L. isn’t a supervillain organization. This causes Bulba to turn against Bradford and he has Megavolt knock Bradford out with an electric shock.

Following this, Bradford is locked in a cell next to Louie, Huey, and Dewey. He is then forced to team-up with the triplets, who help him escape his cell. As the trio search for the Ramrod, Bradford covertly contacts Black Heron and calls in an extraction. Later, Bradford and the triplets come across a room being guarded by Bushroot and narrowly avoid being captured. The stress from this experience causes Bradford to lash out at the triplets, expressing all of his frustrations at the various times Scrooge’s adventures have endangered the world. Bradford quickly regains self-control and claims that he was having a seizure to the now suspicious Duck triplets. He is forced to swallow his F.O.W.L. communication device under the guise of it being his brain medication in order to assuage the trio’s suspicions.

When the group finally locates the room the Ramrod is located in, Bradford discovers that Bulba had imprisoned Scrooge in a fictional dimension and wonders how he can explain any of this to Scrooge. This gets overheard by the Louie, Huey, and Dewey, who question Bradford on how he knows so much about the Ramrod. At that moment, Bradford throws up the his F.O.W.L. communicator, through which Black Heron loudly states that F.O.W.L.’s extraction team is almost to Bradford’s location, all while addressing Bradford as “F.O.W.L. Director”. This leads Huey to realize that Bradford is evil, who responds to Huey’s accusation by tossing the trio into the same dimension Scrooge was imprisoned in.

After this, Bradford unsuccessfully tries to shut off the Ramrod and hides when Bulba and the Fearsome Four arrive. After Darkwing, Launchpad, and Gosalyn defeat Bulba, rescue Scrooge and the triplets, and destory the Ramrod, Bradford uses the chance to board a helicopter being piloted by Black Heron, only to be seen by Scrooge, who also see the F.O.W.L. mark on the helicopter. Realizing he's been exposed, Bradford begin to depart. While departing, he declares to Scrooge that his days of adventuring will be coming to an end.

Escape from the Impossibin![]

The ducks try and fortify and trap the Money Bin with a wildly dangerous and puzzling security system. Unfortunately, Bradford finds out the security code for the system and takes control of it, with the help of Gandra Dee. Once Scrooge, Della and Louie beat the security system, Bradford takes remote-control of the Scrooge-bot and attacks them directly. After a long-winded fight in the Money Bin, Scrooge and the robot eventually start fighting in alternated gravity on the ceiling of the bin. Scrooge is almost defeated by Bradford before being outwitted by Louie, by angering the Bulb-bot inside the robot, causing it to lash out at Louie with the Gravity ray and accidentally bringing all the Bin's money resources toppling on top of the robot, destroying it.

However, this is all proven to be a distraction in the end, when off-screen, F.O.W.L. had successfully captured the Harp of Mervana, the Fountain of Youth, the Solego Circuit plans and Gene the Genie behind the Duck Family's back. After realizing they've been outwitted, they declare to fight against F.O.W.L. on the offense and take back all the stolen artifacts, along with the ones they haven't stolen yet.

Trivia[]

  • The Board is the reboot equivalent of the 1987 series' McDuck Enterprises executives, although playing a much bigger part of the story. They are also counterparts to F.O.W.L. High Command from Darkwing Duck.
  • In the first episode, Buford doesn't seem to have his hair, but in "The Great Dime Chase!", between the premiere and "The Great Dime Chase!", he seems to have grown hair. However in "Last Christmas!", he seemed to have hair long before "Woo-oo!", meaning that this is simply a case of design change (or a haircut).
  • In the first episode, Bentley is shown seated center and speaking rather than Bradford. All subsequent episodes have Bradford seated center and speaking as the head of the Board.
    • This is most likely a retcon, as it is later revealed that the other two are clones who cannot regularly speak in full coherent sentences. They do talk however, albeit in limited fashion, with Bently talking in "Woo-oo!", "The Beast in the Board Room!", and "Countdown to Termination!", Buford whispering in "Countdown to Termination!", and both of them talking in "Last Christmas!".
  • All three of the vultures are voiced by the same actor, Marc Evan Jackson.
  • Bentley and Buford are two of the few characters to die in the show.
  • Being one-quarter finch through his grandmother, Isabella Finch, Bradford is the first known interspecies hybrid character in the reboot's continuity.
