Clan Glomgold is a criminal organization and alliance formed by Flintheart Glomgold in an attempt to defeat Scrooge McDuck and his family and allies.
History[]
Season 2[]
The Ballad of Duke Baloney![]
Scrooge and Glomgold made a bet in which each of them would attempt to earn the most money within a certain period of time. The loser would forfeit his company, either McDuck Enterprises or Glomgold Industries, to the winner, effectively putting an end to their long-standing rivalry.
GlomTales![]
Scrooge had the clear lead, and Glomgold realized he was in danger of losing his company. Having recognized that Scrooge was supported in his various endeavors by his family and friends, Glomgold set out to create a "family" of his own.
First, Glomgold visited the Beagle Boys, and with some difficulty recruited Ma Beagle and the Original Classics to serve as his counterparts to Mrs. Beakley, Huey, Dewey, and Louie Duck. The group visited Mark Beaks, who was persuaded to join the group as a counterpart to Gyro Gearloose. Seeking a counterpart to Launchpad McQuack, the group boarded Iron Vulture and convinced Don Karnage to join them. Glomgold's allies pointed out that he had neglected to recruit someone to oppose Webby Vanderquack, and over his objections, voted to enlist Magica De Spell.
Eagerly accepting their offer, Magica joined the group in storming McDuck Manor, only to find it empty except for Louie and Duckworth, the latter of whom Magica quickly dispatched. The villains became annoyed with Glomgold for failing to find the whereabouts of Scrooge's family, but were persuaded to continue helping him. Louie, who had been punished for his reckless actions in "Timephoon!", suggested a means by which the villains could defeat Scrooge. The group used Iron Vulture to travel to the Money Bin, where Scrooge was waiting in anticipation of the bet ending.
The members of Clan Glomgold and Scrooge's family, including Della Duck, became engaged in a brief but fierce battle. However, Scrooge and his allies proved victorious, and it was only then that Louie revealed his plan. By pooling their ill-gotten gains, the villains gave Glomgold more money than Scrooge, thus allowing him to win the bet. Glomgold was quick to gloat, and at the same time betrayed his partners, having no intention of sharing the spoils of his victory with them.
However, Louie revealed that Glomgold had signed a contract with him, and by not using his birth name of Duke Baloney forfeited the newly-obtained fortune to Louie. Now bereft of his company and hated by his short-lived "family", Glomgold fled, while the rest of Clan Glomgold departed aboard Iron Vulture.
