Dr. Thaddeus Waddlemeyer is the grandfather of Gosalyn Waddlemeyer that appeared in the DuckTales (2017) episode "Let's Get Dangerous!" He built the Ram-Rod under Taurus Bulba and eventually found out that the device was unstable and went to warn Bulba. According to Gosalyn, that was the last time anyone saw him before he disappeared.
Taurus claimed Thaddeus accidentally blew himself into another dimension, but in truth Taurus had banished Thaddeus to another dimension to prevent Thaddeus from interfering with his plans.
After Gosalyn tearfully destroyed the Ram-Rod to save reality, Thaddeus Waddlemeyer still remains missing in an unknown dimension.

- Waddlemeyer originally appeared on photograph in the series premiere of 1990s Disney Afternoon cartoon Darkwing Duck, known then as Professor Waddlemeyer.
- In the Ducktales reboot, this Waddlemeyer was revealed to have the first name of Thaddeus. This is likely an homage to Darkwing Duck creator Tad Stones.
- Unlike the 1990s show, where Bulba's henchmen killed Waddlemeyer, this Waddlemeyer is still alive but is lost in a different dimension after Bulba sent him into the Ram-Rod.
