Flintheart... McDuck?!?

Flintheart... McDuck?!? is a DuckTales 2017 comic book story, and the sixth two-part serial, spanning 20 pages.

Synopsis[]

Scrooge is being driven by Launchpad to a ceremony where he will receive Megabucks Magazine's award for the World's Richest Duck when he spots a tent with a sign advertising free money. Skeptical but intrigued, he decides to investigate, instructing Launchpad to return for him in an hour. Unsurprisingly, the whole setup is a trap, and Scrooge is loaded into the back of a truck by employees of Glomgold Industries. They soon bring him to Flintheart Glomgold, who reveals his reason for having Scrooge captured is so he can replace him and take the award.

Flintheart meets Launchpad when he arrives to pick up Scrooge, and then answers Scrooge's phone to speak with Bradford Buzzard. Bradford is complaining about a cleaning bill for the Mask of N'Way, a magical artifact Scrooge recently found...and that Glomgold has inadvertently sat on. This activates it, releasing a swarm of N'Way demons, whom Glomgold manages to banish with a little help from Launchpad. Unfortunately, the distraction results in Scrooge's Limousine crashing, and Launchpad calls Donald to pick them up.

Donald and the kids instantly see through Glomgold's disguise, but at Louie's suggestion choose to play along with his pathetic deception. As they continue the trip, they are attacked by the Beagle Boys, with Ma Beagle once again demanding that "Scrooge" surrender the Deed to Duckburg. She then leaves to confront Duckburg's mayor, leaving Bouncer and Big Time to secure the deed. Glomgold promptly bribes the two Beagles, as well as "promising" that he'll return to their custody once he's gotten his award.

The group arrives at the Megabucks Magazine office, where Glomgold is admitted to the office of Mr. Bucks-only to find Scrooge already there, having long since escaped Glomgold's goons. The kids then reveal their knowledge of Glomgold's "deception", and that they've been filming his performance the entire time for Scrooge's benefit. Scrooge offers to let Glomgold take the coveted award, but Glomgold refuses, having gotten over his desire to fill Scrooge's spats.
