Frances, also known as Gummeemama, was Doofus Drake's wealthy grandmother, who left him to her fortune. She passed away prior to the series. As Doofus' grandmother, she must be the mother of either Doofus' father or mother. She likely must have been very fond of Doofus, but it never explained why she decided to leave her whole fortune to him. Doofus also claimed she was the only parent he had ever known. However, after her death, Doofus' personality changed and he became very selfish, respectless towards his parents, and possessive. He was obsessed with her to the point of wanting someone to take her place. Perhaps it was not only the money that changed him but also the loss of her, indicating that she had a very strong influence on him.
