Ken Koonce was one of the most frequent writers of the original DuckTales, from season 1 and on, always in pair with David Wiemers. Koonce and Wiemers were also the duos to originally pitched the character Launchpad McQuack, and served as co-producers of the "Super DuckTales" serial and subsequent episodes of season 2 of the show, as well as for half of season 3.
Koonce and Wiemers wrote for television animation together beginning in the mid-eighties, on Galaxy High School, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, The Wuzzles, The Smurfs, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, The Legend of Tarzan and Clifford the Big Red Dog.
On his own or with other partners, Koonce wrote for Hercules, Krypto the Superdog and 101 Dalmatians: The Series where also served as story editor.
