International DuckTales comics commenced production not long after the American production began in 1988. While most of them were created by Egmont Creative in Denmark, there were also DuckTales comics made in France, Brazil and Germany. Some of them have since been published in the US, most notably in Uncle Scrooge.
Denmark[]
The first Disney comics produced in Denmark was published in 1962, and its creative studio, Egmont Creative, has grown to become one of the biggest producers of Disney comics in the world. Its DuckTales output was first published in 1988, and continued for about a decade.
Although headed from Denmark, Egmont's production is international, and the stories are written in English. However – several of the comics have been given a new title when reprinted in the US.
The characters appearing in the Danish stories are the same as in the cartoon's first season, with the addition of three characters who are central in Egmont's regular Duck comics output, but never made it to the animated series: Grandma Duck, Daisy Duck and Gus Goose. Their appearances are noted below.
About half of Egmot's DuckTales stories has art by the Spanish artist José Maria Millet Lopez.

France[]
French publisher Hachette has published a great deal of Disney comic, although mainly starring Mickey Mouse and his supporting cast. Its first DuckTales story was published in 1988, originally as a four-part serial, and more followed in 1990 and 1991. The graphic novel "The Curse of Flabbergé" was published in 1992, and Hachette's final DuckTales output came in 1997.
All of it's stories were illustrated by the Spanish Comicup Studio, with one of its artists doing the primary work, as noted.
In addition to the longer episodes, 75 one-page stories starring Launchpad McQuack were published from 1988 to 1995. All of them were written by Gérard Cousseau & Jean-Loïc Belhomme with art provided by the Comicup Studio.

Brazil[]
Publisher Abril has a long history of producing Disney comics for the Brazilian public, but it's DuckTales output is small, having published only four stories, from 1991 to 1993 (one of which has been published in the US). "O Segredo do Tio Patinhas" ("Uncle Scrooge's Secret") is however one of the longest DuckTales comics ever produced, being told in 12 parts with a total of 112 pages.
