- Ludwig Von Drake is an established Disney character, originally created in 1961 as a recurring character in Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color. He is commonly referred to as a universal genius, as well as Donald Duck's uncle. His "The Golden Fleecing" appearance mentions neither his first name, Launchpad only refers to him as "Professor Von Drake," nor his relationship to the Duck Family.
- Ludwig Von Drake is the only character besides Donald to retain the same voice actor for both incarnations of DuckTales.
