Nanook is a non-anthropomorphic grizzly bear that Scrooge McDuck encounters at White Agony Plains.

The Golden Lagoon of White Agony Plains![]
When Scrooge and Goldie O'Gilt explore the caverns of White Agony Plains searching for the Golden Lagoon, Goldie lights a trail of gunpowder to distract Scrooge and get ahead of him. Scrooge follows the trail to stop the explosion, but finds that a large grizzly bear is sitting on the trail. The bear gets angry because the gunpowder burns his bottom, but Scrooge, who can speak the language of bears, talks to it and tames it. Scrooge then rides Nanook to Goldie and ties her up onto the bear's back. When they get close to the Golden Lagoon but cannot find it, Scrooge reluctantly unties Goldie, and together they realize that the Lagoon is behind a stone wall. Nanook, upon Scrooge's command, brings down the wall.

- Nanook is inspired by Blackjack, Goldie O'Gilt's bear in the original comics and the 1987 series. While Blackjack helped Goldie to overcome Scrooge, Nanook helped Scrooge to overcome Goldie.
- Nanook's name means "bear" in Inuktitut language.
