- Main Cast Absences: Donald and Mrs. Beakley.
- The episodes introduces several features from the 1990s Disney Afternoon show TaleSpin, most notably Don Karnage, his Air Pirates, and the Iron Vulture.
- Instead of Jim Cummings, who originally voiced Karnage in TaleSpin, his voice was provided by Jaime Camil. This is due to the DuckTales creators seeking to cast actors whose ethnicity matches that of the characters they portray.
- Besides their regular roles as Scrooge, Huey, and Louie respectively, David Tennant, Danny Pudi, and Bobby Moynihan also provide additional voice work in this episode as some of the pirates.
- This is the last episode to air under the Disney XD Original logo before getting defunct in relation to the show airing episodes on Disney Channel before Disney XD from 2018 to 2019.
Errors[]
- In one of the last scenes, Dewey is missing his long sleeves, and Webby is missing her eyelashes.
- In a scene where Scrooge McDuck is in the plane, the glass isn't on his glasses for a frame and is instead randomly floating.
