The Greatest Adventure, the Greatest Price! is a DuckTales 2017 comic book story.
Synopsis[]
Scrooge leads Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby on a climb of the Dozenmatterhorn, despite the childrens' aversions to the adventure. Scrooge responds to their comments with his own feelings, noting that work on the McDuck Manufacturing Plant has kept him away from his family in recent weeks. The group is then astonished when, upon reaching a summit, they find a tent pitched and a large building hanging from a hot air balloon tethered nearby. A strange duck then emerges from the tent to greet them warmly, much to Scrooge's confusion.
The newcomer introduces himself as fellow billionaire Huge McDuck, who claims to be a distant cousin of Scrooge's. He then welcomes them into the building, which is a ski lodge he built around the fire keeping his balloon aloft. As the children settle in, Huge and Scrooge become acquainted, and Huge proves to be less concerned about spending his money than the more miserly Scrooge. When Huge leaves the room, Dewey follows him with a question, only to overhear a phone conversation that makes it sound as though Huge is after Scrooge's new plant.
Before Dewey can alert Scrooge to his suspicions, Huge arrives with news of his latest aim: an undersea adventure for them all. They soon find themselves on Huge's yacht, fitted with diving suits, and Dewey alerts Scrooge only to learn that his uncle has anticipated just such a double-cross. On their dive, the group comes across a wooden chest, and Louie attempts to claim it. His air supply proves to be contaminated, and Huge quickly removes his own tank and connects it to Louie's hose.
While Huge stays down below, Scrooge and the kids return to his yacht, and are greeted by an arriving Launchpad. Huge is then brought up by a remote-controlled drone with a load of seaweed, which he explains was the true aim of the dive. Admiring Huge's persistence, Scrooge wishes Huge were his cousin, though he also admits that he's fully aware Huge is not. The lonely billionaire admits his deception, and notes that for all his wealth the one thing he truly wants is what Scrooge already has: a family. He invites the group to another dinner, only for one of his galley workers to introduce himself as Lunchpail McQuack.
