The Hedge Enigma!

The Hedge Enigma! is a DuckTales 2017 comic book story.

Synopsis[]

In the middle of the night, Huey awakes and spots Dewey leaving the grounds of McDuck Manor. The next morning Dewey is evasive about his whereabouts, but the news reveals that Flintheart Glomgold's hedges have been vandalized. Huey quickly confronts Dewey, who denies his involvement and then rebels when Huey attempts to assert his authority as the eldest brother (by three seconds). When Dewey sneaks out again at night, Huey follows him, and eventually finds him meeting with the hooded Mystery Trimmers at the Duckburg Botanical Society.

As it turns out, the Trimmers' leader has a vendetta against Glomgold, and intends to have Dewey continue vandalizing his hedges. After briefly attempting to get advice from Donald, Huey decides that his best bet of saving Dewey is infiltrating the group as "the Mad Hedger." In this guise, he convinces the Mystery Trimmers' leader to observe a duel between him and Dewey at McDuck Manor, only for the police to show up and arrest him while the boys hide. Dewey, having realized the error of his ways, thanks Huey for looking out for him.
