Synopsis[]
The kids pair off to find the missing pieces of a mystical sword hidden throughout an Istanboar marketplace, unless F.O.W.L. gets to them first.
Summary[]
Scrooge briefs the kids on their latest mission: scouring the Istanbird marketplace for the Sword of Swanstantine, the latest of the Missing Mysteries to be sought by both the Duck family and F.O.W.L. Scrooge, the nephews, and Webby are joined by Lena and Violet, who were caught up in Scrooge's mad scramble to fly to Istanbird and are still in their pajamas. Scrooge spots what he believes to be Black Heron, only to anger an innocent bystander. The real Heron soon appears and engages Scrooge, who orders the kids to split up and locate the missing pieces of the sword: blade, handle, and cross-guard.
Webby and Dewey spot the handle in the grip of a statue of Swanstantine the Great, and also spot Gandra Dee closing in on it. She temporarily blinds the pair with a flash bomb, but Dewey continues despite Webby's reluctance. Webby realizes that Dewey's inner strength is his confidence, and she attempts to emulate his confidence. Dewey and Webby get separated due to the scaffolding between them collapsing and Dewey, attempting to move foreword, confuses a snake for a cat (which he names Fluffy). Working together, Dewey and Webby are able to make their way up to the statue despite their blindness. Just before reaching the top however, Dewey becomes stuck and is in danger of falling, which doesn't bother him until his sight starts to come back. Webby saves Dewey from falling by relying on instinct, and gets them to the top. While celebrating their success, Gandra attempts to blind them with another flash bomb. Dewey directs Webby to kick the bomb back at her. Suffering the effects of her own device, Gandra falls to a safe landing while Webby and Dewey claim the first piece of the sword. Webby concludes that their inner strength is their friendship.
Meanwhile, Louie and Violet search for the hilt of the sword in the Spice-A-Torium, an underground spice club run by various criminals who steal and taste spices. Louie gives himself the pseudonym 'Silver-Tongued Serpent' and Violet, 'The Violent Saber'. They find the hilt, but the owner of the club tells them that John D. Rockerduck came for the guard as well. They hold a 'spice-off', where the loser is the person who breaks a sweat, to decide who gets the guard. Louie attempts to cheat his way through the spice-off, but is
nearly caught and threatened by the owner, saying that cheaters will be punished. Violet, to Louie's amazement, gulps down all the spices, but Rockerduck gets frustrated and exposes Louie for who he truly is, but it turns out that he was famous in the club after all. Rockerduck sweats, and loses the guard, and Violet tells Louie that their inner strength is the truth.
Concurrently, Huey and Lena find the blade of the sword in a tile in the ground. Steelbeak comes along and charges at them. Before he can take the blade from Huey, Lena uses her magic to trap everything in a split second in Huey's mind, to plan their next move. Huey goes for non-violent methods and tries various simulations of handling the situation with Steelbeak, but in vain. Lena finds a door marked 'The Duke of Making a Mess' and opens it to find a very savage version of Huey. Huey forces the Duke back inside and
explains to her that he hides the Duke because it goes against everything he stands for and it's not who he is, but Lena says that it is exactly what they need to face Steelbeak head-on. Huey initially has trouble controlling it, but he accepts the duke as a part of him, defeats Steelbeak, and gains the blade. They conclude that their inner strength was being themselves.
Scrooge and Black Heron continue to fight, with all the kids gathering with the pieces. When the F.O.W.L. agents all come together, they threaten the group, and Scrooge tells the kids to drop the pieces. The sword comes together, but when Black Heron grabs it, the sword shocks her and floats to the Duck Family. Scrooge explains that the sword only answers to those with inner strength, the children used theirs to obtain each piece, and the children are Scrooge's inner strength. With the sword in hand, Scrooge and the children are all adorned in armor and threaten the F.O.W.L. agents, who all retreat. They celebrate by using the sword to slice themselves some kebabs. Elsewhere, the F.O.W.L. agents report to HQ, revealing that they succeeded in the real mission, to obtain a feather from Webby, saying they got what they came for.
